Improve Your Influencer Impact
Whether you know it or not you move in a business/social circle. That circle wasn’t created the day you signed up for Google Plus or another social network. It existed long before then.
Think about it. You keep seeing the same people at social networks, discussion forums and at offline networking events. When you visit newspapers and magazines online you see these same people have “liked” the online periodicals on Facebook. You attend business conferences, seminars and book festivals, look up and see the same people.
These mysterious people you keep bumping into, connecting with, are members of your extended business/social circle. To grow your creative business, start making these people a part of your core contacts. To do this, you can:
- Invite people you continuously “bump into” to join an exclusive social network group of yours (e.g. invitation only Facebook business group)
- Email or telephone these people at least once a month, updating them on your business ventures, brainstorming sessions, etc.
- Schedule in-person luncheons and get-togethers with members of your business/social circle you live close to
- Send holiday and birthday greetings to members of your creative business circle
Broaden Your Reach to Increase Business Sales
Keep in mind that business sales and profits are not the focus of the circle. Focus on keeping in regular contact with these people instead of the number of people in the circle. After all, you want the circle to grow naturally, not with conscious effort.
In regards to keeping in touch, there’s good news. Email and private social network groups make it easy for you to keep in touch with these vital team members. To get the most out of these relationships:
- Cross-promote each other’s products and services
- Offer each other discounts on new product launches
- Interview one another on television and/or radio shows you and other members host
- Feature each other in print and electronic periodicals you and other members write for
- Review website updates, blog platforms, etc. members create
- Share valuable tips and advice with members of your business/social circle
Why Certain People Show Up In Your Life
If you look back over your life, you’ll notice that certain people showed up in your life. Some of them came in the form of classmates, others in the form of neighbors. Still other people showed up in your life as colleagues. Now that you’re an entrepreneur managing your own creative business new people are entering your life. You don’t have to notice it; it’s happening and perhaps not as by chance as you imagine.
These people increase your range of influence. Even if you haven’t met some of them in person they regularly (more than others) retweet your messages, “like” your Facebook groups and send you emails about upcoming business events. Don’t take this lightly. Nurture these relationships and watch your range of influence, connects and business grow.
