Steve Jobs, Apple Co-Founder, Pioneering Greatness
Born February 24, 1955, Steve Jobs was a pioneer. He co-founded Apple, a frontrunner in the technology sphere. Adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs as an infant, Steve grew up around electronics as his adoptive father, Paul, was a machinist who liked to tinker with electronics. Not only did Steve Jobs drop out of college, he also got released from Apple once, the very company he founded with his friend, Steve Wozniak. The two met while working at Hewlett-Packard.
The fact that Steve Jobs didn’t hail from a traditional family background has allowed his life to inspire people he may not have otherwise reached deeply. Add to that the fact that Steve Jobs dropped out of college and received a pink slip from the very company he helped start and his influence grows. He seemed to have a lifelong appreciation for electronics and technology, that much appears evident. However, few, if anyone, would likely have guessed that three years after they built an early Apple computer in the Jobs’ family garage, Steve Jobs and his buddy, Steve Wozniak would rake in $139 million in profits. The rest is history.
Steve Jobs Talked About the Importance of Following Your Passions
During his 2005 Stanford University commencement address, Steve Jobs talked about the importance of following your passions and not living someone else’s life. He talked about the fact that somewhere, deep within us, we know what we want to do, what we came to this earth to do. He encouraged the Stanford University graduates not to turn away from that urge, that calling.
