Creative Business Leaders Create Something Brand Spanking New

Regardless of the strength of economies, each year thousands of creative business leaders create something brand spanking new. Many new products are introduced at the Consumer Electronics Association’s (CEA) annual exhibitors’ conference. Want to learn about what’s new in telecommunications, the automobile industry or Internet branding, you just might find it at CES’ annual event.

But the CES is not the only barometer for how many new products and services are launched by courageous creative business leaders who are passionate about what they do. The United States Patent and Trademark Office processes and tracks the numbers of patent applications it receives each year. The office also tracks the number of patents approved or granted annually. In 2010, there were 490,226 patent applications filed in the United States, the largest number received since 1963.

This does not account for the numbers of copyrights book authors, musicians and other artists file with the United States Copyright Office each year. Clearly, creative business leaders are not measuring the validity of their personal dreams based upon global economies or internal or external doubts that their dreams will be realized.

You Can Earn Sizable Passive Income from Your Patents.

If your product or service sales have been on the decline for several months perhaps it’s time to create something brand spanking new. Keep in mind that it cost $35 to file a new copyright online; the cost is $50 if you submit a paper application through the mail. The process of filing and submitting a patent or trademark is more extensive. You’re encouraged to work with your attorney to file a patent or trademark. However, if you patent one or more products that are picked up by major corporations, retail stores, etc. and your licensing contract royalty rates are effectively priced, you can earn sizable passive income from your patents.

Organizations like the African Innovation Foundation and the Small Business Association of New England support innovation and creative thinking starting with young creative business leaders. Whether your field is technology, the arts, community services, medicine, financial services, etc. there is likely an organization that supports new products and services like the ones you’re thinking about launching.

Find Organizations and Money to Support Your Efforts

In today’s market connecting with “innovation supporters” is made easier thanks to the Internet. You can find organizations and money to support your efforts by conducting a search on the Internet. You can also locate and connect with “innovation supporters” by joining professional associations and organizations. Consider taking advantage of these opportunities.

As you continue to follow your dreams, remember that there may be times when you have to choose a different course, a course that leads you to levels of success you had not before imagined or thought about. This is exactly what happened to people like Mary Kay Ash, Madam C. J. Walker and John H. Johnson. Be willing to create something brand spanking new to keep moving your dreams forward.
